What is the difference between an update and an upgrade?

Answer

An update of the program can be done within the version of the program. For example, updating the FineReader PDF 15 program to the latest release as described in the article: FineReader PDF update.

An upgrade implies the transition from one version of the product to another, e.g. upgrade from FineReader PDF 15 to FineReader PDF 16.
