This situation could appear if the update request was created during preventive maintenance of the file server.
In order to fix the issue, follow the steps below:
- Close ABBYY FineReader 14.
- Go to to folder C:\ProgramData\ABBYY\FineReader\14.00\Updates. Please note ProgramData folder may be hidden.
- Delete content of the folder.
- Launch ABBYY FineReader 14.
- In menu click on Help > Check for updates.
