The following error message appears when FineReader PDF is started:

Internal program data is corrupted. Error code: 519


The error message may be caused by the antivirus or other third-party software (e.g. CCleaner) installed on the computer.

There is a known issue that the CCleaner registry cleaner can remove some important information from the System Registry and as a result, the error code 519 appears. 


To resolve the issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. Uninstall the program using standard Windows methods: click Start and type Control Panel, and select it.
  2. Select Programs > Programs and Features.
  3. Right-click the FineReader PDF version that needs to be uninstalled and select Uninstall.
  4. Temporarily disable the antivirus software installed on the computer.
  5. Download the distribution kit of the latest release of the appropriate FineReader PDF version: Download links for FineReader.
  6. Install the program again.
  7. After the installation has been completed, enable the antivirus software.

To avoid such a situation in the future, it is recommended to add the FineReader PDF folders to exceptions of the antivirus software (and/or CCleaner).

For FineReader PDF 16:

  • C:\temp\FR16
  • C:\Program Files\ABBYY FineReader 16
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\ABBYY
  • C:\ProgramData\ABBYY\FineReader
  • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\ABBYY\FineReader
  • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\ABBYY\FineReader

For FineReader PDF 15 or 14:

  • C:\temp\FR<version>
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY FineReader <verison>
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ABBYY
  • C:\ProgramData\ABBYY\FineReader
  • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\ABBYY\FineReader
  • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\ABBYY\FineReader

    Sorry Victoria  but is a very bogus solution.

    Abbey reader gets a ZERO rating. As a Systems Manager, I no longer recommend this product. Users are faced with serious delays when trying to do their job. Often this includes completing work for senior management.   

    Program should detect issue and automatically fix the issue itself. When reported to Abbey support, we received a long and complex fix. Rather than receive a fix program. I not tell users to go Programs and Features and perform a repair.

    We also purchased version 15 with hopes to shortcut the error. Version 15 is maybe worst.

    Frustrating. Of COURSE I would reinstall. But I don't know what the name of the install package was, so I can't find it again. Your article should give a hint about how to find the install package.
