Screenshot Reader captures the incorrect area on the screen

Symptoms

The Screenshot Reader captures not the same area as was drawn.

Cause

The issue of incorrect area capturing is connected with scaling options on high DPI monitors.

Resolution

For correct area capturing, please follow the steps below:

  1. Try to set up the display settings of the scaling, resolution, the size of the text to "Recommended" or 100%.
  2. Go to the folder where the application was installed (by default it is C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY Screenshot Reader <version>).
  3. Right-click on ScreenshotReader.exe and in the drop-down menu select Properties > Compatibility.
  4. In the Compatibility mode section tick on Run this program in compatibility mode for and select the highest operating system available for the computer.

  5. Make sure that Disable display scaling on high DPI settings is enabled and click OK.

  6. Restart the computer to apply the changes.

Please note: In the system settings Disable display scaling on high DPI settings can be displayed as Override high DPI scaling behavior. Then it is necessary to click the button Change high DPI settings and activate Override high DPI scaling behavior.

Hi. Abby Screenshot Reader does not work. I put it in Windows 8 compatibility mode and lowered the screen resolution as indicated in an Abby help post. It worked once and then never again. I have Windows 10 Pro. What can I do because I need it for work?
