"The RPC server is unavailable" error message appears when Screenshot Reader is started

To fix this issue:

  1. Go to Control Panel.
  2. Go to (System and security >) Administrative Tools > Services.
  3. Find the ABBYY Screenshot Reader Licensing Service in the list of services and right-click it.
  4. Select Properties from the shortcut menu.
  5. Select the General tab.
  6. Check if the Automatic item is selected in the Startup type drop-down list. If a different item is selected, select Automatic.
    or select Automatic (Delayed start) in case error message occurs every time after a reboot.
  7. Click the OK button.
  8. In the Services dialog, right-click the ABBYY Screenshot Reader Licensing Service and select either Start or Restart from the shortcut menu.
  9. Launch ABBYY Screenshot Reader to make sure it is working correctly.
