Page image gets curved after converting a document in FineReader PDF

Symptoms

After converting a document in FineReader PDF, part of the page image becomes curved in the resulting document.

Cause

The enabled Straighten text lines preprocessing option might cause an issue on a specific page image.

Resolution

To solve the issue, please follow the steps below:

For FineReader PDF 16: 

  1. Open FineReader PDF 16.
  2. Go to the File menu > select Options....
  3. In the opened window, go to the Image Processing tab > click on Specify settings manually > Show Custom Settings.

  4. Unclick the Straighten text lines option > save the settings by clicking OK.

  5. Restart the application and try to convert a document with the newly applied settings. 

For FineReader PDF 15: 

  1. Open FineReader PDF 15.
  2. Go to the Tools menu > select Options....
  3. In the opened window, go to the Image Processing tab > click on Show custom settings.
  4. Unclick the Straighten text lines option > then save the settings by clicking OK.
  5. Restart the application and try to convert a document with the newly applied setting.
