Symptoms

• test connection to the ODBC data source succeeds;
• when saving the data link properties two errors are shown:
  "Object or provider is not capable of performing requested operation."
  and
  "Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each   
  OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done."
  
  

Cause

The Teradata ODBC Driver For Windows is outdated.

Resolution

Check the current Teradata ODBC Driver For Windows version in the ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit) on the Drivers tab.

If it is lower than the current latest version, then update the Teradata ODBC Driver:
