The recognition and processing of documents in the FineReader PDF desktop program are performed in the offline mode. All the documents are stored and processed locally on a PC.

The activation and registration data used to activate and register the license is sent to our server. An Internet connection may be needed to activate the license. However, activation may also be performed offline: How to activate FineReader PDF without Internet.
