A document could have files embedded in it. Is it possible to detect and extract these embedded documents and then subsequently process them as well?

Answer

If the embedded link is added to some file inside the document, then the link will be processed as text, there will not be any subsequent extraction from the file to which the link points.

However, if using the embedded Objects (e.g., the Adobe Acrobat, Excel, etc.), then they can be extracted as text if necessary.
