Creating a PDF file from editable document formats with FineReader PDF

Question

How to create a PDF file from editable document formats (such as DOCX, XLSX, HTML, TXT, etc.) using FineReader PDF? 

Answer

There are three possible ways of converting the editable document formats to PDF files using FineReader PDF:

  • Using the Convert to PDF option from the context menu (requires either Microsoft Office or LibreOffice). Right-click the needed file, and select the corresponding option.

  • Using the integration of FineReader PDF with Microsoft Office (for Microsoft Office program and the corresponding editable formats only). Open the file in the corresponding Microsoft Office program, go to the ABBYY FineReader PDF tab, and use Create PDF option.

  • If none of the options above is suitable and PDF-XChange virtual printer (discontinued since Release 3 for FineReader PDF) was used before, for converting editable documents to PDF format, it is possible to use Microsoft Print to PDF virtual printer instead.

    I use the virtual printer most from Thunderbird, not MS Office or LibreOffice. I find it unacceptable that I need to have two versions of FineReader PDF on my computer when one should be able to do the job.
