"FlexiCapture Web Services: Access denied. Contact your Administrator" error in Event Viewer logs


When working with ABBYY FlexiCapture, an error is regularly thrown in the Event Viewer logs with the following contents:

ABBYY FlexiCapture Web Services: Access denied. Contact your Administrator

The error in question does not affect the overall behavior of the FlexiCapture 12 server.


This issue might be caused by an incorrect user account access permission configured in the system.


Review the IIS configuration and the folder access permissions for the account running the FC12 services and IIS application pools:

  • Note the user account set as the one running the "FlexiCapture 12 Web Services" application pool:
  • Verify if the user account above has proper read/write access to the following folders:
    • The physical path of the FC12 site - C:\inetpub\wwwroot\FlexiCapture12 and the underlying folders;
    • Microsoft .NET Temp folder - C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files
  • Try to change the 'Pass-through authentication' for the Server site in IIS to the user account running the FC12 site:
