Error "Document Definition settings error. Invalid default prefix ''XX” in regular expression “[XXXX]" obtained for the FlexiCapture project

Symptoms

The following error message can be observed for the FlexiCapture project:

Document Definition settings error. Invalid default prefix “XX” in regular expression “[XXXX]”

This error may occur when trying to either open the FlexiCapture project or save the Document Definition. The mentioned error may interrupt the Document Definition publishing and make the definition Disabled.

Cause

The problem is caused by the incorrect prefix specified in the country Located elements Formats settings. The value of the Prefix field should match the value of the Available prefixes variations. 

Resolution

Let's consider an example. As you can see, on the following screenshot, the prefix was set as HR, meanwhile, the available prefixes field value is set as [OIB:]. This causes an issue when the Document Definition is being checked and does not allow to it to be saved and published (the DD becomes disabled).


In order to fix the issue, either the prefix field value has to be “OIB” or available prefixes need to be specified as “([%H%][%R%])”. For example, the following configuration will result in no issues:
