Symptoms

A similar error message appears during the Engine initialization:

com.abbyy.Outproc.FREngine.EngineException: Unknown COM error: 80004005
at com.abbyy.Outproc.FREngine.Engine.load(Native Method)
at com.abbyy.Outproc.FREngine.Engine.InitializeEngine(Engine.java:41)

Cause

This issue might occur if you are using an incorrect license for the FineReader Engine 12 for Linux product.

Please note, that FineReader Engine 12 for Linux and FineReader Engine 12 for Windows are separate products and have separate licensing.

Resolution

Make sure that your current license is intended for FineReader Engine 12 for Linux.
