Symptoms

The following error is shown when opening the FlexiCapture 12 Login page:

Cause

This issue might be caused by an incorrect database connection string.

Resolution

• Verify and take note of the current database connection settings at /FlexiCapture12/Monitoring/winauth/Main/DBConnection
• Stop the ABBYY FC Processing Server and stop the IIS;
• Navigate to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\FlexiCapture12\Server\
• Make a backup copy of the web.config file
• Edit the original web.config file and remove the <connectionStrings>...</connectionStrings> down to the </configuration> (leave this specific tag in place). Basically, remove the <connectionStrings> and <appSettings> tags:
  
• Start the ABBYY FC Processing Server and the IIS
• Navigate to /FlexiCapture12/Monitoring/winauth/Main/DBConnection and reconfigure the database connection
