FineReader PDF can be installed and used in a local area network (meaning all workstations and server are in the same network).
If the License Server and the workstations are located in different subnets, a TCP/IP connection must be configured.
Prerequisites
- You have admin access to your computer
Steps
On the computer where the License Server is installed, perform the following steps:
- Make the appropriate changes to the connection protocol and the connection port settings in the Licensing.ini file

- Copy the file to the administrative installation point.
- Ensure that the computer with the License Server is accessible from all workstations all the time:
Note: the License Server should be accessible all the time for Concurrent and Remote User license types. For Per Seat licenses, it should be accessible during the installation.- On the computer with ABBYY FineReader License Server installed, create a shared folder (e.g. "Test").
- On a workstation, press Windows+E to open a Windows Explorer window.
- Type \\SERVERNAME in the address bar and press Enter.
- Try to open the "Test" folder.
- (for Concurrent and Remote User license types; for Per Seat licenses - during the installation).
