Symptoms

The following error received when verifying the data in the Verification Station:

The number is too large.

Cause

The issue occurs due to basic data limitation of the Number field type. In FlexiCapture 12, fields of number types whose value exceeds 10¹² are treated with the mentioned error message.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, please use any of the following workarounds:

1. Set the Number field value to be less or equal to 1 000 000 000 000, since it is the maximum value allowed for this type of field.
   
2. Change the field type to Text instead of Number as it allows an almost unlimited number of characters to be added.

   Note: in case the field type is changed to Text, additional validation for the format may be required.
