As stated in Google’s blogpost, on September 30, 2024, access to Google accounts from third-party applications will no longer work when signing in with a password. This affects the import profile functionality of FlexiCapture 12.

Currently, a workaround for this issue involves creating an application password.

Workaround for FlexiCapture 12 IMAP import using Google mailbox with password-only access:

1. Enable 2-Step Verification for your Google account (see the instructions here).
2. Create an application password for your account (see the instructions here).
3. Run Project Setup Station.
4. Click Project > Image Import Profiles... in the main window or press Ctrl+I.
5. Edit the existing IMAP import profile or create a new one with the following settings:
   • Specify your Google email address in the User name field.
   • Select Define authentication parameters.
   • Enter the application password you created in Step 2 in the Password field.
   • Click OK to save the changes:
