Question

The parameters of the license have been changed, e.g. the expiration date or the number of seats.

How to update the license parameters of the FineReader PDF (Standalone, Per Seat license installed locally) in an offline environment? 

Answer

There are two scenarios for updating the license parameters of FineReader PDF offline:

Using the website

1. On the workstations, open FineReader PDF.
2. Go to Help > About.
3. In the About dialog, click License Info.
4. Select the license and click Update.... button.
5. Select the method On the website:
   
6. Save the generated information about the serial number and Product ID.
7. On a computer with internet access, go to the ABBYY website. The link is also provided in the Update Wizard.
8. On the ABBYY website, enter the serial number and Product ID, click Submit and Get the file.
   

   Note: The license file can only be used to activate the installation of FineReader PDF with the specified parameters.

9. Transfer the downloaded license file to the computer with no internet.
10. In the Update Wizard on this computer, click Next and Browse... to specify the path to the license file.
11. Follow the instructions of the Update Wizard.
12. After updating is complete, it is possible to continue using FineReader PDF.

Using the license file

In step 5, select the method Load license file and follow the instructions below:

1. Submit a request to the Customer Support team providing the corresponding Product ID and a serial number to receive the license file. 
2. Download and transfer the received license file into the computer with no internet access.
3. In the Update Wizard, click Browse... to specify the path to the license file.
4. Follow the instructions of the Update Wizard to complete the update.
