Question
How does Vantage classify documents?
Answer
ABBYY Vantage can classify documents on three different levels:
- Classification activity inside a Process Skill: This activity categorizes documents into different document types, and then corresponding Document Skills are used to properly process classified documents, and, if needed, route them to appropriate downstream business processes.
- Assemble activity inside a Process Skill: Documents are assembled based on page classification. The Assemble activity facilitates the identification and separation of different documents within one multi-page file, and also enables the assembly of pages from separate files into single multipage documents, as needed.
- Classification activity inside a Document Skill in the Advanced Designer: Advanced Designer’s Classification activity is used to identify variations of the same document type that should be processed differently, perhaps with different extraction activities, like layouts, segmentation, or neural networks.
