How to create a Hot Folder task visible for both the Local Administrator and the Domain User?

Question

The Hot Folder task has been created by the Local Administrator and when the Domain User logins on the workstation, the task does not display. How to create a task so that all the users can see it?

Answer

In FineReader PDF 16 the Hot Folder tasks are stored locally in %Userprofile%\AppData\Local\ABBYY\FineReader\16\HotFolder folder.

There are 2 ways for the task to be visible to all the users:

Method 1:

  1. Export the task created by the Local Administrator (copy the *.hft tasks’ files located in the folder %Userprofile%\AppData\Local\ABBYY\FineReader\16\HotFolder).
  2. Login by the Domain User and import the task to the same folder.

Method 2:

Copy the *.hft tasks’ files located in the folder %Userprofile%\AppData\Local\ABBYY\FineReader\16\HotFolder under the Local Administrator and paste them to this folder under the Domain User.
