  4. Run the program and activate it by entering a serial number in a displayed dialog box. If the dialog box does not appear, click on the ABBYY FineReader PDF menu > Activate.

If FineReader PDF for Mac was purchased via the App Store, please complete the steps below:

  1. Uninstall FineReader PDF for Mac from the old computer: go to the Applications folder, find ABBYY FineReader PDF, right-click it, and select Move to Bin.
  2. Make sure that the same Apple ID used to purchase FineReader PDF for Mac is being utilized on the new Mac. In the App Store on the Mac, select the name in the bottom-left corner or select Sign In if not already signed in, and then sign in with the correct Apple ID.
  3. Find the FineReader application in the App Store, then click the Download button.

In the App Store, all the purchases are tied to the specific Apple ID. To ensure that all store purchases are visible and updates can be downloaded, the same Apple ID should always be used for sign-in on any other Mac.
