  • Removed Open Office integration. Beginning with v12.8.0, users should install Microsoft Office or LibreOffice to ingest office documents.

Features

  • Document Comparison has been enabled for Linux and macOS.
  • Enhanced support for running ABBYY FineReader Engine 12 inside Docker containers on Linux. For more information, see Running FRE 12 inside Docker containers on Linux.
  • Added new DocLang export format.
    • DocLang is an open, structured document intelligence format to provide your enterprise with a consistent, interoperable way to represent document data across modern AI applications. This AI-native format preserves semantic meaning and geometric layout alongside key structural elements like headings, paragraphs, and tables. DocLang embeds critical governance controls to enforce privacy policies and optimizes document data for efficient AI tokenization, enabling developers to deploy reliable and compliant models.
  • Updated Chinese language support for Simplified and Traditional Chinese to use ChineseSimplified and ChineseTraditional. ChinesePRC and ChineseTaiwan are still accepted for backwards compatibility.
  • Updated Wix version to 3.14.0.

 

Fixes

  • Fixed Windows Classification samples issue causing some images to throw an exception during classification that indicated there was no data to be classified.
  • Fixed issue in FRE for Linux where some table rows containing multiline text were split into two rows.
  • Fixed issue where “4”s were misrecognized when processing certain PDF files.
