What are the required files and folders access rights?

If you have very strict internal files and folder access right policy or use very strict antivirus software, such as TrendMicro, please make sure that the user has access to the following files:

• <ABBYY FineReader Engine 12 Installation Folder>\Bin
• <ABBYY FineReader Engine 12 Installation Folder>\Bin64
• C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY SDK\12\License Server
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ABBYY\SDK\12\Licensing
• %ProgramData%\ABBYY\SDK\12\FineReader Engine\Inc\.NET interops
• %ProgramData%\ABBYY\SDK\12\Licenses

Also, please check that all folders and registry branches mentioned in the Developer's Help > System Requirements are accessible:

• The following registry branches should be accessible from the workstation:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ABBYY\SDK\12\FineReader Engine — full control
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ABBYY\SDK\12 — full control for installation only
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ABBYY\SDK\12 — full control for installation only
• The following folders should be accessible from the workstation:
  • Folder with ABBYY FineReader Engine binary files — access for reading
  • %TEMP% folder — full control access
  • folder %ProgramData%\ABBYY\SDK\12\FineReader Engine — full control access
