Issue

While installing 64-bit version of FREngine I'm getting error message:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action Launch_regsvr32_FREngine.dll.x64. location: C:\WINDOWS\system32\.command: regsvr32.exe /s "C:\Program Files\ABBYY SDK\12\FineReader Engine\Bin64\FREngine.dll"

Cause

This message appears due to the user's insufficient rights to register dll.

Solution

Try to perform installation via Setup.exe - it requires administrative rights, so while necessary rights will be granted, the installation process will be successfully performed. .msi file does not request administrative rights, so there is no chance to raise them.
