How to use ABBYY FineReader PDF for iOS

Create document:

  1. Launch ABBYY FineReader PDF;
  2. Take images using device camera or select images from Gallery, then press Done button;
  3. If necessary, cut or rotate image and apply filters using toolbar;
  4. Then press Apply to all or Done button;
  5. Press Done.

Recognize document:

  1. Open the document list;
  2. Select required document and tap Recognize button;
  3. Select recognition mode:
    • Plain text mode makes on-device text capture without sending document to the server. Text formatting would not be saved. After recognition will be finished, text can be copied or sent to one of the available applications.
    • Preserve original formatting mode creates document on the server and save document’s structure and style.
  4. Select recognition languages and format of resulting file, then press Done.

Share document:

  1. Open the document list;
  2. Tap Share button;
  3. Select By Email, To your Email or To a Cloud service;
  4. Select file format:
    • Recognized file: Searchable PDF (PDF/A), DOCX (DOC), XLSX (XLS), TXT, RTF, ODT, PPTX, EPUB, FB2;
    • Image-only file: JPG, PDF.

    I installed FineReader on iPad Pro 12.9” 5th gen. but it just hangs after opening and the screen shows no images or camera shots.   Though two of the buttons show some response.
