Error message appears in FineReader PDF: "A sharing violation occurs while accessing a file"

The following error message appears while FineReader PDF is running: 
A sharing violation occurred while accessing <file name>.

Cause

This error is usually caused by interference from antivirus software.

Resolution

  1. Disable antivirus software when working with FineReader PDF.
  2. Add the following FineReader PDF processes to the exception list of the antivirus running on the computer:
  • FineReader.exe
  • FineReaderOCR.exe
  • FineExec.exe
