Updates and Downloads

An update for FineReader for ScanSnap 5.0 (Windows version) Update 3 is available to download. This update is intended for the program with part number  #1074.4, #1074.8, #1074.12 and #1074.14

Update 3 includes:

• Bug fix for an issue where black and white documents scanned in color were converted to black and white or gray images when using the "Scan to Searchable PDF" option.
• Bug fix for avoiding character corruption in recognition results when using the "Scan to Searchable PDF" option with Japanese recognition language in Windows 10.
• Bug fix for avoiding character corruption in an End User License Agreement (EULA) when installing FineReader for ScanSnap for the Korean user interface in Windows 10.

This update includes the following changes (from Update2):

For version #1074.14:

• Bug fix to avoid warning message in Adobe Reader requiring additional fonts for documents in Japanese (Scan to Searchable PDF).
• Recognition speed for black-and-white image-only PDFs with high resolution has been increased.
• Bug fix for avoiding an improper recognition language selection warning for documents in Japanese, with Japanese and English recognition languages selected (Scan to Word).

For version #1078.8:

• Windows 8 support.
• Bug fix for “Image quality” option (Scan to Searchable PDF).
• Bug fix to keep ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap from stopping during "Scan to Word" with PDF-files.
• Bug fixes in help files.

Note: To check the part number of your distributive, please open the main window of FineReader for ScanSnap and click the About button.

Steps to install the update:

• Download the FRSS50_Patch_1074_16.exe (334MB) and save it on your computer where ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap is installed.
• Close FineReader for ScanSnap.
• Run the update: FRSS50_Patch_1074_16.exe.

Once the installation of this update is completed, FineReader for ScanSnap 5.0will be ready to run. Please note the part number in your program will be updated as #1074.16.
