When installing FineReader Server 14 on Windows 7, often times you will encounter an Installation failed error along with Error code: 1312 Error that can be found in the Installation log.

Symptoms

Installation failed error message received from attempting to install FineReader Server 14:

Error 1312 from Installation log:

Cause

FineReader Server 14 want to create a directory, but there is an existing folder with the same name.

Resolution

Please go to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and find the folder (or file) with the name of: '1033' and rename it (or remove it) then re-run the FineReader Server 14 installer.
