Where to find the lost serial number/activation key for FineReader?
Answer
If the license was purchased on our website, the email from our e-shop included the license number and the invoice. Please check it by the following keywords: 2Checkout, Verifone.
If the license was purchased via one of our resellers or partners, please check the email with reseller/partner name in your inbox.
If the email was deleted or you use a different email now, it is possible to restore the serial number using the following information:
- registration data (email, name, surname, company name) if the license was registered;
- invoice or order number if the purchase was made on our website;
- email or company name that was used for the purchase on our website;
- Support ID if the program is currently installed on a machine:
- Go to FineReader's menu: Help > About > License Info;
- Contact ABBYY Customer Support team by submitting a support ticket and provide a Support ID displayed or any available information from the list above.
If the boxed version of the program was purchased, the serial number can be found on a card inside the CD case or printed on EULA.
The serial number of the ABBYY product license has the following template: XXXX-YYYY-YYYY-YYYY-YYYY-YYYY, where X - letters, and Y - numbers.

In Help -> About -> License Info i saw a key containing 24 numbers, no letters at all. When i uninstalled Abbyy in order to install it on another computer, with this activation key, it told me that the serial number is invalid. Now i don't have any working installation... What can i do to recover my activation key?

Hi — This is very frustrating, as I've been having this problem for over a month, and have not been able to activate the product. I opened a support ticket, and was advised to reinstall the latest build—which I did, but the problem was not solved; it's been over a week, and I've received no response.
It's very frustrating to pay good money on a product, and a month later it's still not working. A reply with a workable solution would be very much appreciated.

I have tried everything....I moved to a new laptop...downloaded v16 standalone...referred to serial number in my paid receipt...it wouldnt work....then I copied license file from other computer and got error (you are installed on another machine...look, I paid for this version 9 months ago and I should be entitled to use it on the new computer

Hello, I purchased a monthly subscription for your FineReader PDF and my credit card was charged appropriately but I never received a confirmation email nor did I receive the serial number needed to activate the product. I also submitted a ticket which was later marked as "solved" but I was neither contacted nor received the license. Please help.
