Calculating the PagesSlice value required for your project in FineReader Server 14

PagesSlice attribute determines how many pages will be processed by each processing core simultaneously. You can read more via the link: FineReader Server Help: Configuration File (Attributes > PagesSlice).

You can determine the most accurate PagesSlice value for your workload using this formula:

PagesSlice = 2 * X * T / N,

where
Х – maximum number of large files;
Т – average recognition time of a large file during a full load while processing a large amount of files (to measure T you would need to turn on only one process in the processing station's properties and process a large file to see its processing time. It should be measured in minutes);
N – number of processes on all processing stations (configured in processing station's properties).
