Unable to install ABBYY Reporting Services: Internal .NET Framework Data Provider error 6

Symptoms

During installation of ABBYY Reporting Services, while running the CreateEventLogDb.ps1 script an exception is thrown:

Internal .NET Framework Data Provider error 6

Database is created but tables are not created.

Cause

.NET core 2.2 is not installed

Resolution

Install the .NET Core 2.2 using Microsoft official instructions.
