Symptoms

An error is shown in the FlexiCapture Event logs, and it affects the processing of documents by FlexiCapture:

A sharing violation occurred while accessing <a file storage path>

Possible effects include:

• Data Sets' update is not working
• Processing of the documents cannot finish, etc.

Antivirus is installed on FlexiCapture machines.

Cause

The access to the FileStorage could be blocked by the Antivirus.

Resolution

Exclude the FlexiCapture File Storage and processes from Antivirus checks. The list of FlexiCapture processes and folders to exclude from Antivirus is as follows.

The list of FlexiCapture processes to exclude:

• FlexiBRsvc.exe
• FlexiCapture.exe
• FlexiEx.exe

Service:

• World Wide Web Publishing Service

and the following folders:

• File Storage folder
• ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers installation folder (default: C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers)
• ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Stations installation folder (default: C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Stations)
• ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 ProgramData folder (default: C:\ProgramData\ABBYY\FlexiCapture\12.0)
• %Temp% folders for the accounts under which the Processing Station is running
