ABBYY FineReader Pro for Mac End of Life

ABBYY FineReader Pro for Mac End of Life is planned for September 30, 2021.

Since April 7, 2021 FineReader Pro for Mac is not sold from ABBYY web store and App Store, replaced with the new ABBYY FineReader PDF for Mac.

Complete End of Sales for FineReader Pro for Mac is planned for May 2021, since when it will not be available for ordering anymore also from distributors and resellers of ABBYY products.

Technical support for FineReader Pro for Mac will be available till the End of Life date, i.e. till September 30, 2021.

Users of FineReader Pro for Mac can switch to new FineReader PDF for Mac by purchasing a license in ABBYY web store or from ABBYY resellers.

    I did use FineReader PRO until now, because there I could enter meta information to my PDF files, like title, subject, keywords before saving scanned recognised documents as PDF.
    Seems like the latest Update of Mac OS X now screwed the graphical presentation of FineReader PRO and I have to switch to FineReader PDF for Mac.
    Unfortunately this says the *.frdoc files from FineReader PRO are "corrupted", so no chance to migrate data, still no chance to enter metadata like in the former version of Finereader.
    No response to the feature request to build in the ability to edit PDF meta information.
    For me FineReader PDF only got worse nothing better than FineReader PRO and it hasn't changed the last years, since I bought FineReader PDF not using it until now, where I am forced to because of the end of life policy and because FineReader PRO is simply not working any more.
    Disappointed really. Sorry.
