Removing text boxes in scenario "Scan to Word" with FineReader for ScanSnap

Question

When opening documents scanned to Word, all text throughout the entire document is scanned into text boxes on each page.

How do I remove text from the text boxes without losing formatting?

Answer

Saving settings available in ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap do not allow to change the document layout for documents, which are converted to Word:


You can only remove frames in MS Word after conversion.

To Remove a Frame From a Text Word Document:

  1. Select the frame you want to remove.
  2. Right-click, and select Format Frame from the context menu. 
  3. In the popping-out Frame dialog, please click the Remove Frame button.

    The program does not recognize the ScanSnap iX1600 scanner. In windows, the scanner is recognized in the device manager.

    Fujitsu ScanSnap scanners do not support TWAIN or WIA drivers, that is why such scanners are supplied with a special version of product - ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap.

    Wie lautet die neueste Version für den Windows Rechner mit Hot Folder?

    Ich möchte in meiner Ordnerhierarchie in der Dropbox den obersten Ordner anwählen und dann vom System alle PDF’s in den Unterordnern (ohne auszuwählen) per OCR bearbeiten lassen und die neuen Dateien unter den alten Namen abspeichern lassen. Geht das?
