Symptoms

When trying to activate the program with the serial number of the license the error message appears: Invalid serial number 

or 

This serial number cannot be used for ABBYY FineReader <version>

Cause

The error message can appear if you are trying to activate an inappropriate version of the program.

Resolution

1. Check the activation key you use (the serial number of your license can be used for activation only the corresponding version of the program) or please submit a request to receive support on this issue.
2. Install the corresponding version of ABBYY software. Make sure that the license you use corresponds to the version of the program you are trying to activate.
