During activation process of FineReader the error occurs: The serial number is already in use

Symptoms

When trying to activate FineReader on the computer, the following error message appears:

The serial number is already in use.

Cause

The error message appears since the program is already activated and can be used.  

Resolution

To check that the program is already activated, please follow the steps below:

  1. Launch FineReader program;
  2. Go to Help>About>License Info;
  3. Check that the license is shown in the appeared window, the expiration date of the license should be marked as "Never".

  4. If you see the license, that means there is no need to activate the program again.

    Hello,

    I have purchased a license for ABBYY FineReader 15 (Corporate). When I reinstall Windows and reinstall ABBYY FineReader 15, the message "Activation failed. Your serial number could not be activated automatically. You may be trying to activate multiple copies of the program."

    .How can I deactivate the original license?

    Hello,

    I have the same issue but with Abby Finereader 12. I had to change the worksation where Abby was installed with a new one with  Windows 20H2. I uninstalled Abby before removing the computer and then tried to install on the new one and getting the same error message on the license.  "You may be trying to activate multiple copies of the program". What can I do please?

    Aktivace ABBYY FineReader 11 Professional

     

    Dobrý den.

    V roce 2013 jsem koupil od společnosti sw.cz Váš program ABBYY FineReader 11 Professional.

    Teď jsem si pořídil nový počítač a chci program na něm aktivovat. Na starém počítači jsem deaktivoval program (odstranil jsem licenci). Po vložení registračního klíče  na novém počítači se mi objeví okno: „Aktivace se nezdařila. Sériové číslo nebylo možné aktivovat automaticky. Možná se pokoušíte aktivovat více kopií programu.“

    Na novém i starém počítači mám Windows 11. Trialová verze funguje. Na žádném jiném počítači není program s tímto registračním klíčem nainstalovaný.

    Prosím o uvolnění tohoto registračního klíče.
