"Invalid serial number" error when activating FineReader Pro for Mac version

Issue

When activating the program on Mac, the following error message appears:

Invalid serial number. The serial number you entered is invalid. Please provide a valid serial number to activate ABBYY FineReader PDF.

Cause

Another program version FineReader PDF for Mac has been installed but the serial number from the previous program version FineReader Pro for Mac has been used for activation.

Resolution

FineReader Pro for Mac and FineReader PDF for Mac are two separate versions and should be activated with separate serial numbers.

If the serial number of your copy of the program corresponds to the FineReader Pro for Mac version, please uninstall FineReader PDF for Mac and install FineReader Pro for Mac using the following link.

I just renewed my license for FineReader PDF for Mac (NOT FR Pro). The serial/license number on my payment receipt is rejected, yet I copied and pasted, so I know it is accurate. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello,

I have the exact same problem. I installed the PDF Reader for MAC as suggested here. It does not change. I have contacted the customer service help function and I get no answer. No answer on the phone number indicated in the email confirming the order...

Can you kindly advice?

Hello,

I recently migrated my programs and data to a new Mac (FineReader PDF). The serial number worked fine on the previous Mac, but it is rejecting the same serial number on the new computer. Please help.

Hi Victoria,

Since I have ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap and it works well for converting my scans to Word, is not ABBYY FineReader PDF now a duplication of service?
