Question

How to activate the FineReader using the activation method via the internet?

Answer

This activation method requires an internet connection on the workstation. 

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Run FineReader program.
  2. Activation Wizard window will pop up (click Help > (About > License info) > Activate if the window did not pop up).
    Enter the serial number into the corresponding field:

  3. Click Next.
  4. Choose the activation method Via the internet and click Next.
  5. Fill in the registration form.
    registration is optional*
  6. Click Next and then finish the activation process.

* Note, that registered users will receive the following benefits: free technical support, ABBYY Screenshot Reader, and a way to recover the serial number if it was lost (e.g. when reinstalling the operating system).

    I cannot activate ABBY FineReader 16. I do NOT have the 6-digit SERIAL number. where can I find it. I only have the License Key with 24 letters and numbers.

    Hello Clara,

    Yes, the License key (begins from 4 letters and 20 numbers after) is the same as the Serial number. Please use it for activation.

    Hello,

    I am trying to activate ABBYY finereader 14 from another computer, I removed the license from the old computer, but when I try to activate it on the new computer it says the serial number is invalid.

    What should I do?

    Good morning. My name is Marcus. I have the license number of 4 letters and 20 numbers for "ABBYY FINE READER 10", however, I am not able to activate the product over the internet. Upon activation, informs the possibility of registering more than one product. However, I'm not trying to activate more than one product, I'm just wanting to activate the product on this computer.
