Symptoms

The following error message appears when installing the Licensing Service:

Internal Program Error: Assertion Failed 
..\Protection\SharedCode\Inc\ProtectionClassFactory.h,
  222

For example, using a quiet installation:

setup.exe /qb /v LICENSESRV=Yes INSTALLDIR="C:\MyFolder"

Cause

Some third-party software tries to intervene with the licensing service. For example, it may be an antivirus or similar applications.

Resolution

It is required to add our service to antivirus exceptions.
