Improving the recognition quality using the Image Editor

Question

How to improve the OCR quality by applying the tools from the Image Editor in FineReader PDF?

Answer

Distorted text lines, skew, noise, and other defects commonly found in scanned images and digital photos can lower the OCR quality. FineReader PDF provides a variety of automated and manual tools for removing these defects.

If automatic preprocessing features were disabled or only specific pages should be preprocessed, the Image Editor can be used to manually edit the page images.

More information about the tools for image preprocessing can be found in the article If your document image has defects and OCR accuracy is low.

If after applying the tools of the Image Editor the recognition quality could not be improved, it is recommended to submit a request and provide the original and resulting documents.
