Symptoms

In case multiple monitors are used, and one monitor is switched off, FineReader PDF may not open if it was shown on a monitor that is currently switched off. 

Cause

It's a default system behavior if multiple monitors are used. 

Resolution

In case it is not possible to switch the display on, follow the steps below:

1. Open system display settings: in Windows Search, type Display settings, and press Enter.
2. In Multiple displays, select the appropriate option (e.g. Duplicate these displays or Show only on 1) and press Apply and Keep Changes.
