How to preserve the font in italic in the resulting EPUB document processed in FineReader PDF?

Answer

To get the font in italic in the output EPUB document, please apply the following settings: 

  1. For FineReader PDF 16: go to the File menu > Options....
    For FineReader PDF 15: go to the Tools menu > Options....
  2. Select Format Settings > EPUB document type > Document layout.
  3. Select Formatted text.
  4. Tick the Retain fonts and font sizes option.

  5. Recognize the document again for the new settings to be applied.
