When Lingvo is started the following error occurs: "Internal program error: .\Src\LingvoProAutentification.cpp, 112"

Symptoms

The following error message is displayed when the Lingvo program is started:

Internal program error: .\Src\LingvoProAutentification.cpp, 112. 
Error code: 0x5

The error may also be followed by the number 116 instead of 112

OR

When you are prompted to accept the terms of End User License Agreement and after you accept it nothing happens.

Solution

To resolve the issue, do the following:

  1. Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA (or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA for Windows XP)
  2. Right-click the MachineKeys folder and select Properties from the shortcut menu. In the Properties dialog box, click the Security tab. 
  3. In the list of groups and users, find the group named Everyone. Give Full Control permissions to this group.
  4. Open MachineKeys folder and find the file whose name starts with "3642e374".
  5. Right-click the file and select Properties from the shortcut menu. In the Properties dialog box, click the Security tab. 
  6. In the list of groups and users, find the group named Everyone. Give Full Control permissions to this group.

Please note ProgramData and AppData folders may be hidden.
