are there any special restrictions or requirements for automating interaction with the application Abbyy Fine Reader 15?

are there any special restrictions or requirements for automating interaction with the application?

I'm testing to see how good ABBYY® FineReader PDF is. I want to automatically use the keys on the keyboard, without touching the keyboard, with the python library

https://pyautogui.readthedocs.io/en/latest/keyboard.html#keyboard-keys

These are the keys.

1. "Ctr+Shift+S" (open File from the FineaReader menu)
2. "Alt+T" (tab the transition to the combo in which the file extensions)
3. "T" (Choose to save in Text format)
4. "Enter" (Save actually)

I tested, Abbyy opens the file, but the keys are not activated

    Hi Suzana,

Thank you for your interest in ABBYY FineReader PDF!

First of all, I'd like to mention that the current version of FineReader PDF is 16. FineReader PDF 15 isn't available for purchase anymore, so if you're testing the software please make sure it's the version 16. To check, go to Help->About menu: the build no. should start with 16.* - like this:

Make sure you're using correct shortcuts. All keyboard shortcuts available in FineReader PDF are listed in the user manual https://help.abbyy.com/en-us/finereader/16/user_guide/hotkeys/.

In general, there are no special technical limitations for automating interaction with the application in the way you're trying. However, please note that:

    1. The application wasn't specifically tested for this usage scenario with various automation tools, so it cannot be guaranteed that it will work with any libraries, RPA tools, etc. However, if you're testing and you're sure that you do everything correctly so it should work - but it doesn't, don't hesitate to submit a support request on the support page: our specialists will try to help you.

    2. To use FineReader PDF via automation of interaction with the user interface, you'll need to purchase a special kind of license for using FineReader PDF with RPA tools (please refer to the EULA, specifically the articles 2.5 and 2.7 of the Appendix A). Please check information about this type of licenses on this page https://pdf.abbyy.com/licensing/pricing/. On the page, you can also place a request to ABBYY's Sales team for further information and prices for such kind of licenses.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,

    Yuriy
