Hi everyone,
I’ve recently started using ABBYY FineReader on a new laptop, and I’m impressed with how quickly it processes high-volume scans. However, I’m looking to further optimize the OCR settings to get the best balance of speed and accuracy—especially when handling documents with complex formatting or multiple languages.
So far, I’ve been tweaking the recognition language combinations and image preprocessing settings, but I’m curious if anyone here has discovered advanced tips or hidden configurations that work particularly well with AI-powered hardware.
For context, my AI laptop uses an NPU (Neural Processing Unit), and I believe it's helping with background optimization, but I'm unsure if ABBYY actually taps into this hardware. Has anyone tested this or noticed performance differences between standard and AI-enhanced systems?
Here are a few specific things I’d love advice on:
- Best image preprocessing settings for poor-quality scans
- Custom language training or dictionary use for specialized text
- How to prioritize accuracy vs. speed for batch OCR jobs
- Any scripts or automated workflows you’ve built that sync well with ABBYY on modern systems
It would be awesome to hear how others are customizing ABBYY for professional workflows—especially if you’re using an AI laptop like I am.
Thanks in advance!
