📝 How to write a helpful feature request
The best feature requests are focused, relevant, and clear. Here’s a simple format that works well:
1. What feature would you like to see added or improved?
Be specific. What’s missing, and what would this new functionality do?
2. What ABBYY product is this for?
Include the product name (for example, Vantage, Timeline, FineReader PDF, FlexiCapture, etc.), and version/environment/part of the product if it’s relevant.
3. What’s the use case or problem you’re trying to solve?
Describe what you’re trying to accomplish, what’s slowing you down, or what’s not currently possible.
4. What would success look like?
Tell us what a good solution would enable for you or your team, even if it’s a rough sketch.
5. Optional: Include screenshots, examples, or mock-ups
These help clarify your idea and how it fits into your workflow.
