Adding lists of dictionary words to User languages in FineReader 15

In the process of creating a new User language in FineReader 15 you would normally add dictionary words as they appear in the process of recognition and verification.

Did you know that you could do this faster by creating a list of dictionary words and importing them as a *.txt document?

To do this, follow the steps below:

  • Create a new Notepad document;
  • Type in all words you want to add to your dictionary;
  • Save this file as a *.txt document

Note: if you type in words in a non-Latin alphabet, make sure you choose correct encoding of the file. For example, for Russian or Arabic you would need to choose UTF-16.

  • Import this file to the dictionary of your language (Language properties > User dictionary > Edit > Import).
