Sometimes when you move your install of FlexiCapture install from one machine to another you forget a simple step. One of the most common mistake people have is pointing to the correct or new license server. License server information are not stored in the registry. They are actually store in the LicensingSettings.xml in both the install folder for the server or station for FlexiCapture 10 . i.e.
C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY FlexiCapture 10 Servers\
C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY FlexiCapture 10 Stations\
So if you ever open a station or server and get the error “Error communicating with ABBYY Product Licensing Service on “computer name”…” you might check the XML setting file. This is especially true if the “computer name” is no longer correct. If the computer name is correct, check firewall and if the Licensing Service is actually running.
