Job and server log questions

Hello,

I have a few questions about the logs (Server and/or job log)

- Are they saved somewhere so i can access them outside of the application? (exporting it manually everytime is not optimal)
- Can i specify how far a log goes back?
- The "time" field in the job log, is this the actual Processingtime? or the time starting from the moment the job entered the jobqueue?

    Wim,

Which version of Recognition Server are you using? If you are using, RS3, it sort of saves it in a text file call JobsLog"somenumber".log which can be found in ProgramData/ABBYY Recognition Server 3.5/RS35Temp/Jobs. You can also export the value out in the Remote Admin Console In this version, there was a limit of how many record it stored.

If you are using RS4, they changed it a bit. It looks like they store it in a SQL lite DB. Easy option is to also export it out in the Remote Admin Console. Otherwise if you want to find the location, it can be found in Program Data/ABBYY Recognition Server 4.0/RS4WF/Jobs

RS3, I think only a set limit. You can't specify how far back it goes. It actually overwrite the record. I don't remember the exact number but lets say it was 300. After 300, the 300th record would be removed and the 299th record would be the 300th record and so on.

The time should start from the time it is loaded into the queue. So if there are no CPU free, it will have a longer time period as it waits for a free CPU.
