header (and footer) as reference element for relations for multi pages Answered

Hi there,

 

I have a question to Flexilayout Studio 11. There's a PDF with 4 or 5 different pages and different content (tables, schedules an so on). I defined a general header on first page and footer on last page, tryed further to define an element (static text, character string) as relation to the header (properties->relations->reference element...) . It works well for the first page- the 'green animation', but not on the other pages in the document- do you have an idear to solve the problem?

    Hello Enrico

    Please check the multi-page mode for your document configuration (project properties > general tab – the “allow multi-page documents” option).  If you know what page contains your information you may use the search-constraint option (element properties > search-constraint tab > absolute search area constraint > Add button > select “Range” in the pages’ drop-list and set the page number.

    Hi Ekaterina,

     

    thanks a lot for your recommendations. It works well with search constrains and page ranges. Unfortunately if you choose "add new relation" than the green marker doesn't reach to the next page. Only after matching you can see a transparent marker on page 2. Is there a way to extend the green marker?

    Hello Enrico,

    The functionality you're talking about is quite limited and cannot be extended to several pages.

    To set up relations between elements on different pages please use other approaches.

    Hi Ekaterina,

     

    is there a way to define a flexible footer on each page without 'range'? What I mean is that: if the ordner of the pages is wrong, then I could define an special footer for reference to get the values. Tryed this with 'barcodes', this needs a range for good hypotheses. Tryed it with static element as text- works better, but is to flexible and the hypothese is more bad...

    Hello Enrico,

    The footer can be defined without explicitly setting the pages' range, but in this case it should have good logic and specificity. Probably you should elaborate your approach with footer based on static texts.
